The Barbary Coast Belgian Sheepdog Club was formed in the early 1980's by several local Belgian Sheepdog fanciers to provide opportunities to get together with other Belgian owners to visit, and to put on fun and educational events. While we are a Belgian Sheepdog club several of our members have Belgian Tervuren and Belgian Malinois. We welcome Belgian fanciers of all varieties and all experience levels.

In 1988 the BCBSC sponsored the Belgian Sheepdog Club of America's National Specialty show in San Mateo and today the club will support the entry at one or two shows a year for those active in conformation. We have members who are active in rescue; they have helped give many deserving Belgians a second chance. Other members are active in agility, obedience and herding and we put on educational events to introduce newcomers to these activities.
